Ethics Policy
HACK/re is committed to transparent, ethical journalism. This policy governs our editorial independence, commercial relationships, and conflict of interest disclosures.
Editorial Independence
All editorial decisions — what we cover, how we evaluate products, and what conclusions we reach — are made independently by the HACK/re editorial team. No advertiser, sponsor, or research partner has approval rights over our editorial content, headlines, or publication timing.
Research Partner Disclosure
Forward Flow is a compensated research partner of HACK/re. This means:
- Forward Flow provides financial support to HACK/re through a research partnership agreement.
- Articles that include Forward Flow as a tested or reviewed product are clearly labeled with a disclosure notice at the top of the article.
- Forward Flow does not have editorial control, advance review, or approval rights over any article, including those in which it is evaluated.
- Our testing methodology for articles involving Forward Flow is identical to the methodology used for all other platforms. Forward Flow receives no preferential treatment in test design, scoring, or reporting.
- Articles involving Forward Flow carry a "Research Partner" attribution on any associated call-to-action, clearly distinguishing commercial placements from editorial content.
Conflict of Interest Policy
- HACK/re editorial staff may not hold financial interests in companies we cover.
- We do not accept payment from vendors in exchange for coverage or favorable reviews.
- We do not use affiliate links. Revenue from our research partnership is disclosed; we do not earn per-click or per-conversion commissions.
- If a potential conflict of interest arises, it is disclosed in the relevant article.
Corrections and Retractions
We correct factual errors promptly. Corrections are published at the top of the affected article with a clear description of the change. If an article's central conclusions are materially affected by new information, we will publish an editorial note or retraction.
